Chef Jason Wyrick, the owner of Real Food Right Now and Casa Terra, believes in the power of giving back to the community. By helping others, he feels he is doing his part to fight against those looking to make the world worse.
Currently, Real Food Right Now is preparing and donating 150 gourmet plant-based meals a week to local homeless shelters. The practice started in July 2020 when Chef Wyrick realized it would be easy to succumb to all the negativity surrounding COVID-19.
“I don’t want to be one of those people that makes the world darker. I want to make it brighter.”
Instead of feeling broken by current events and letting them weigh him down, he decided to fight against despair and give back to the community. The best way he knew how to do this was by feeding people.
